VIA design and Scott Campbell, AIA Receive Awards at Visions for Architecture

We want to congratulate Scott Campbell on receiving the AIA Virginia 2021 Emerging Professional award! Since joining VIA design architects in 2010 he has embraced and exemplified the role of an actively engaged, community focused, professional architect, placing importance on the advancement of not only his own career as a design professional and leader in his firm, but also on the advancement of the profession of architecture and its role in the community.

VIA design received the AIA Virginia Award of Merit for Extended Use – Adaptive or Continued Use for the Allan Myers project. This building is an early 1970’s prototype structure identical to the prototype design Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles rubber stamped around the state. It is a simple rectilinear box with a repetitive floor to ceiling precast concrete and glass panel pattern on all 4 sides perched on an elevated foundation. We transformed this workplace to meet the next generation’s appetite for quality design representative of the Allan Myers culture, “Image of Excellence.” Addressed the need for a sense of entry, brought natural daylight into the workspaces and connected the beautiful natural surrounding landscape with the interior and the company brand.
