Chesapeake Bay Magazine’s Best Resort Marina (2009–2013)

This waterfront destination on the banks of the Pagan River provides guests a unique setting in which to enjoy the historic river-port town of Smithfield. This coastal community is nestled in a pristine natural setting of marshlands and rolling farmland. The marina development includes transient slips and long term docking with deep water slips available for vessels up to 130 feet in length. It is carefully situated to create an intimate waterfront setting while still allowing for large vessels. Dockside facilities include boardwalk cottages fronting directly on the marina with exceptional waterfront views, a waterfront concession/bar area and a waterfront pool and bathhouse facility.

The Lighthouse conferencing facility, a waterborne structure, is modeled after the famous St. Michaels Chesapeake Bay Lighthouse and brings forward the scale, character, and details true to this watch station. It is promoted as an executive meeting space and accommodates overnight stay as a unique get-a-way retreat.
