Cypress Landing is an apartment building for homeless and/or disabled low-income veterans with 50 total units. There are 44 one-bedroom apartments and 6 two-bedroom apartments with support spaces. The building is 3 stories; the one-bedroom units are approximately 680 square feet and contain a full kitchen, living room, covered balcony, bedroom, full bathroom, and a closet with a side by side washer/dryer. The six two bedroom units are approximately 920 square feet and contain a full kitchen, living room, covered balcony, two bedrooms, full bathroom, half bathroom, and a closet with a side by side washer/dryer.
In addition to apartments, the building has a community room built to the standards defined in VHDA’s Minimum Construction Guidelines with kitchen and outdoor patio, a front desk, staff offices, and a fitness room. The building has a security system and 64 off-street parking spaces. All appliances are Energy Star rated. Incorporating the principles of sustainability enhances the quality of life for residents, encouraging them to maintain their housing. Improving the energy efficiency of the buildings also helps to lower operating expenses which allowed Second Act Communities to maintain the affordability of the units.
