FEATURES

Public Art

Our landscape architect has long advocated for public art, performed site studies, served on selection panels, and completed numerous public art commissions around the country for various clients around the United States. While a public sector landscape architect, he was responsible for administering over ten of the pilot projects for Pima County Arizona’s (then) new percent for art initiative. He has collaborated with artists selected for design team efforts, designed artwork to be fabricated and installed as part of major construction projects, and fabricated and installed work in both studio and public settings.

Keith’s commissions include a glass marble throne in a zoo, mosaics in a child witness waiting room in a courthouse, mosaic and metal sculpture in parks and roadways, as well as temporary exhibits in a botanical garden, airport and a sculpture park. His projects reflect a sense of place, culture, environment, and regional identity and engage through intricate texture, pattern, and color. He unapologetically strives to bring a smile, a sense of wonder or a different appreciation of a place through his work.

For the Tide-a-scope mosaic at the Monticello Tide Station, we took inspiration from the nearby Scope arena, Elizabeth River and surrounding theaters, past and present.
