Future-Focused

inspiring the next generation

Founded in 1991 by visionary architect Donna Phaneuf, VIA has consistently remained ahead of the curve, establishing a 30+ year legacy of design excellence. In 2016, Donna welcomed Andrew McKinley and Scott Campbell as partners, and after years of dedicated mentorship and collaboration, Andrew and Scott have now assumed joint ownership of VIA.

This transition marks a new and exciting era for our firm. Building upon the strong foundation established by Donna, we foster a positive and supportive work environment that encourages collaboration, creativity, and professional growth for our entire team. Recognizing the importance of individual fulfillment and work-life balance, we invest in our people and create a rewarding work environment where every member can thrive. We actively support our team’s ongoing education through our in-house VIA study group, designed to bolster and support one another in pursuing additional qualifications and certifications. This includes exploring new roles and responsibilities that better align with individual strengths and interests, as well as our tradition of leadership development and succession planning.

VIA also offers enriching internship opportunities for architecture students, providing hands-on experience and mentorship alongside industry professionals. Interested in learning more about employment + internship opportunities? Learn more.

For VIA, sustainable design is more than a trend—it’s our core responsibility. We’re committed to shaping a better future by creating spaces that are both beautiful and environmentally responsible. From The Essex, our historic downtown office, to every project we undertake, we prioritize sustainable practices.  We champion LEED training, energy efficiency, and whole-building design, using cutting-edge tools to ensure our projects are not only environmentally sound but also contribute positively to the world around us.
