The Essex, located at 319 East Plume Street, is VIA’s home in Downtown Norfolk. However, it is much more than an office space; it’s a true community hub designed for connection and collaboration. Our large, first floor forum, aptly named Meet@319, offers an ideal setting for client workshops, staff retreats, nonprofit gatherings, community board meetings, industry seminars, and more. With light rail connectivity, street level loading, waterfront access within three blocks, and pedestrian access to dining, shopping, cultural, and entertainment venues, Meet@319 is truly integrated into the vibrant fabric of Downtown Norfolk.

The Essex also stands as a testament to our passion and commitment to sustainable design. This beautiful 1910 Greek Revival structure has been meticulously future-proofed, seamlessly blending historic preservation with cutting edge building automation. As our model home, we intentionally designed The Essex as a beta test site for Siemens technology innovations, showcasing how thoughtful design, energy efficiency, and whole-building approaches can transform a space.
